NM State Headed Back to Northwest For NCAA Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - Four days after winning its record ninth WAC women's golf championship, NM State found out where their journey to the NCAA Championships will begin as the Aggies will travel back to the Pacific Northwest and Cle Elum, Wash. for the NCAA Regionals, beginning on May 6.

The Aggies, led by individual medalist and WAC Player of the Year Dominique Galloway and Coach of the Year Danny Bowen, pulled even with Seattle U heading into the final hole and eventually won a playoff against the Redhawks to earn the trophy.

Joining NM State at the Cle Elum regional will be top overall seed Southern California, championship host Arkansas, South Carolina, Northwestern, regional host Washington, Miami (Fla.), Oregon, San Jose State, Oregon State, Old Dominion, Iowa State, San Diego State, UCF, Ohio State, Sacramento State, Boston University and Southern Illinois.

The Aggies will be the 16th seed at the regional and will play with Boston U and Southern Illinois to open the competition at Tumble Creek Golf Course at Suncadia Resort.

In addition to the Cle Elum regional, competition will also take place in Norman, Okla., Auburn, Ala., and East Lansing, Mich. Each regional will include four 54-hole competitions. The three lowest-scoring individuals and six lowest-scoring teams will advance to the finals.

The NCAA Championships will be held on May 17-22 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
