WAC Men’s Tennis Postseason Honors Announced

DENVER – The 2019 All-WAC men's tennis teams have been named, following a vote of the WAC's six head coaches. Grand Canyon's Lorenzo Fucile headlines the awards, earning WAC Player of the Year honors, while teammate Jakub Novak was named WAC Freshman of the Year. Grand Canyon swept the major awards as Gregory Prudhomme of Grand Canyon won WAC Coach of the Year.
Fucile was named WAC Player of the Year after going 4-1 in WAC play as Grand Canyon's No. 1 singles player. He finished the regular season with a 15-8 record. Fucile also earned first team All-WAC honors at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles.
Novak earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors after going 5-0 in the No. 6 slot in WAC matches. He ended the regular season of his first year of collegiate play with a 14-4 record. Novak, who also earned first team All-WAC honors in both singles (No. 6) and doubles (No. 2), heads into WAC Tournament play on an 11-match win streak.
Prudhomme earned WAC Coach of the Year after leading Grand Canyon to a perfect 5-0 record in WAC play. He helped the Lopes to an overall record of 17-6. Prudhomme also earned WAC Coach of the Year honors on the women's side.
