WAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Seattle U's Jacques Hebert and Grand Canyon's Jorden Okyere have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for April 23-29.

Hebert, a senior from Honolulu, Hawaii, placed third in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 3:50.11. His time places him best in the WAC this season. Hebert also ran the 800-meter in 1:56.35, good for a personal-best.

Okyere, a freshman from Phoenix, Ariz., set a school record in the Discus and a personal record in the Hammer. He threw the Discus 49.55 meters placing him third in the WAC. He is fifth in the conference for the Hammer with a 49.08 meter mark.

Other track nominees: California Baptist's Simon Bedard took sixth out of 93 competitors logging a 3:52.10 1,500-meter time… Curt Threlkeld of CSU Bakersfield ran the 400-meter for the first time this season winning the event plus recording the second-best WAC-time… Grand Canyon's Adam Knuff remains ranked fourth in the 100 and seventh in the 200 in the WAC… Traezon Henderson of Kansas City took fourth in the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the Zach Kindler Wildcat Invite… Utah Valley's Adrian Jones claimed his third victory of the 2019 season winning the 3,000-meter Steeplechase in 9:02.83… UT Rio Grande Valley's 4x400-meter relay team of Dimitris Levantinos, Max Carmona, Mariano Hernandez, and Brandon Sanders broke the program record finishing in 3:11.61.

Other field nominees: Perry Adderley of Kansas City placed top-five in all three throwing events as he continues to lead the conference in the Shot Put.
