WAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced
DENVER – Utah Valley's Adrian Jones and CSU Bakersfield's Corbin Chronister have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for April 30-May 6.
Jones, a junior from Meridian, Idaho, notched a personal-best in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase completing it with a time of 8:48.75. His time places him second-best in program history and is a new best time in the WAC.
Chronister, a sophomore from Bakersfield, Calif., won the Hammer Throw at the Titan Twilight throwing over 200 feet for the second time this season. He also threw a career-best 55.43 meters in the Discus taking third. Chronister leads the conference in the Hammer and Discus Throws while remaining fourth in the Shot Put.
Other track nominees: Jaquez Perry of Kansas City ran the third-best time in the WAC and fourth-best in school history in the 400-meter.
Other field nominees: Kansas City's Perry Adderley ranks top five in the conference for the Discus Throw and Shot Put and tossed the 11th best mark in the Hammer Throw this past weekend.
