WAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced
DENVER – CSU Bakersfield's Riley Slayton has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, for April 30-May 6.
Slayton, a freshman from Bakersfield, Calif., ran her fastest time in the 400-meter Hurdles finishing in 62.32. She placed second at the Titan Twilight and is fifth-best in the conference. Slayton is the top-ranked freshman in the WAC.
Other track nominees: Sommer Herner of Kansas City ran a 2:37.47 in the 1,500-meter making her fourth-best in school history and 12th in the WAC.
