KC'S HAMILTON AND CBU'S TYHURST NAMED PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Kansas City's Halle Hamilton and California Baptist's Abigail Tyhurst were selected as the Western Athletic Conference Women's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for Sept. 9-15, respectively.

Hamilton, a senior defender from Lincoln, Neb., impressed on the offensive end as she netted two goals and added an assist in the Roos victory over Northern Iowa. This marks the first two goals of Hamilton's career and her third career assist. She also posted a career-high five points, leading Kansas City to its fifth win on the season as the Roos remain atop of the conference standings.

Tyhurst, a freshman goalkeeper from Cave Creek, Ariz., recorded two shutouts in two victories for the Lancers. She managed three saves on the weekend and has now posted four shutouts in just seven games. Tyhurst improved her save percentage to .800 and her goals-against average to a mere 0.69, placing her third amongst the conference in both categories.

Other offensive nominees: California Baptist's Ari Coronado scored the game-winner against Idaho as the Lancers went 2-0 on the weekend... Chelsee Duran of CSU Bakersfield recorded her second and third goals on the season in a tie with CSUN and a victory over Incarnate Word... Grand Canyon's Sophia Roberts netted her first career goal against UC Santa Barbara... NM State's Shea O'Connor scored her team-leading third goal on the season against rival UTEP on Thursday... IMPRESSIVE START
Kansas City maintains their hot start as they defeated Northern Iowa to tally their fifth win of the season. The Roos are one of only 17 teams in the nation that maintain an unbeaten record through four weeks of non-conference play. A dominating offensive performance this weekend saw the Roos stay on track as they put four shots in the back of the net to add to their conference-leading goal total (13).

ANOTHER SHOT
After going 0-2 against Top 25 teams this past weekend, UT Rio Grande Valley has an opportunity to be the first WAC school to conquer a Top 25 this season. The Vaqueros will take on #12 Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. CT. Seattle U nearly came out on top on Friday as they took #3 Southern California to overtime before falling in the 93rd minute.
