ON THE COURSE
Every WAC team has teed off on the 2019-20 season and the fall schedule continues this week. Grand Canyon heads to Wisconsin for the East & West Match Play Challenge in Madison while Seattle U makes the cross-country trip to New England for the Boston College Intercollegiate in Canton, Mass. California Baptist and NM State will see each other at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. while Utah Valley heads to Idaho for the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational.
BY THE NUMBERS
CBU's Jocelyn Chee holds the early stroke average lead at 71.0. Grand Canyon's Siri Patchana is second at 72.0 while NM State's Dominique Galloway, UVU's Nathalie Irlbacher and UVU's Kaylee Shimizu are tied for the third spot at 72.3. On the team side, NM State holds the top stroke average at 295.3 strokes per round with Grand Canyon and Utah Valley tied for second at 295.7.
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER
California Baptist's Jocelyn Chee became the first medalist of the season, tying for the top spot at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic with an even-par 213 over 54 holes.
WAC CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO THE LONE STAR STATE
For the first time since 2004, the WAC Championship heads to Texas as Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville will play host to the conference tournament on April 26-28, 2020. Designed by Byron Nelson and Joe Finger, Riverhill has been host to over 40 USGA and Texas Golf Association events.
