ON THE COURSE
The first month of the 2019-20 season comes to a close with week with five schools at five different tournaments. CSU Bakersfield heads to Palm Desert, Calif. for the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. Chicago State crosses Lake Michigan for the Shirley Spark EMU Invitational in Ypsilanti, Mich. while Kansas City also heads east to Columbia, Mo. for the Johnie Imes Invitational. Seattle U heads south to the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore. and UT Rio Grande Valley heads to Magnolia, Texas for the Bearkat Invitational.
BY THE NUMBERS
Grand Canyon's Siri Patchana is the individual stroke leader after nearly a month of play, averaging 72.4 per round. NM State's Dominique Galloway is second (72.7) with CBU's Jocelyn Chee and Utah Valley's Kaylee Shimizu are tied for third at 73.3. As a team, NM State is the leader at 295.8. Grand Canyon is second (297.4) and Utah Valley is third (301.7).
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER
California Baptist's Jocelyn Chee became the first medalist of the season, tying for the top spot at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic with an even-par 213 over 54 holes. NM State became the first WAC team to win a tournament, taking first at the Colonel Wollenberg's Ptarmigan Ram Classic with a 26-over-par 890.
WAC CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO THE LONE STAR STATE
For the first time since 2004, the WAC Championship heads to Texas as Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville will play host to the conference tournament on April 26-28, 2020. Designed by Byron Nelson and Joe Finger, Riverhill has been host to over 40 USGA and Texas Golf Association events.
