WAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

IDAHO
Idaho was the lone WAC school in action this weekend as they hosted Washington State on Friday and Saturday. Junior Katie Hale led the way again for the Vandals as she earned a dominant victory in the 50-yard butterfly on day one, reaching the wall at 24.21. Hale also won the 100 backstroke (55.40) and took home second in the 50 free (23.19). Rylie Jones added a win of her own in the 100 butterfly, finishing at 56.22. Alexa Tenecyk and Kaling Phung finished second and third, respectively, in the 200 free. Phung also added a second-place finish in the 200 back (2:04.57). Haily Oldham posted the best finish for the Vandals in the 50 breast, finishing third (31.50). Bindi Peterson turned in a third place finish in the 200 fly (2:09.00).
WAC CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2020 WAC Swimming and Diving Championship will be leaving Houston for the first time in five years. This year Dixie State will be hosting the WAC Women's Swimming Championship that will be held on Feb. 17-20 in St. George, Utah. The WAC Men's Swimming Championship will be hosted by UNLV on Feb. 24-27. Meanwhile, the WAC Men's and Women's Diving Championship will take place on the campus of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz. on Feb. 25-27. Last year Air Force took home the Men's Swimming & Diving Championship while Northern Arizona won the women's championship for the seventh consecutive year.
