TicketSmarter WAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Announced
DENVER – Seattle U's Hailey Vice-Neat has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 3-9.
Vice-Neat, a redshirt sophomore forward from Santa Rosa, Calif., led the Redhawks to an 82-80 overtime win over Utah Valley behind career-highs in points (18), rebounds (11), blocks (2) and minutes (40). Along with her first career double-double, Vice-Neat hit the game-winning three-pointer with six seconds left in overtime. She also managed a career-high four triples on 40 percent from behind the arc.
Other nominees included: California Baptist's Lexy Ram recorded back-to-back double-doubles, highlighted by a 20-point, 12 rebound outing in a win over CSU Bakersfield as the Lancers went 1-1 on the week… Chicago State's Bethany Carstens posted a career-high 23 points along with seven rebounds in a losing effort on the road against NM State… Grand Canyon's Jada Holland went a perfect eight of eight from the free-throw line to finish with a stat line of 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block in a win over California Baptist… Kansas City's Ericka Mattingly led the Roos to a pair of road victories over UTRGV and NM State as she averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, including dishing out a season-high nine assists against the Vaqueros… UT Rio Grande Valley's Amara Graham finished the week averaging 19.5 points per game, including a 25-point outing in a win over Chicago State… Utah Valley's Josie Williams finished with 23 points and seven rebounds in an overtime loss at Seattle U.
