WAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MEN

Chicago State's Ricordo McKenzie and Utah Valley's Albert MacArthur has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for February 10-16. 

McKenzie, a senior from Montego Bay, Jamaica, earned two top finishes this week at the IU Hoosier Hills Meet. McKenzie earned first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.89. He ran in the 200m run, placing second, with a time of 21.87. McKenzie's 200m time is first in the WAC.

MacArthur, a senior from Port Orchard, Wash., earned silver in the Long Jump and Triple Jump events at the Husky Classic. At the meet, MacArthur jumped a distance of 7.31m in the Long Jump. He jumped a 15.31m in the Triple Jump. His Triple Jump distance is would be number one in the WAC if he did not already hold the number one position.

Other track nominees: GCU's Rylan Stubbs finished seventh in the mile (4:16.11) ... Seattle U's Isaiah Payne competed in the 60m (6.95) and 200m (22.07)... UTRGV's Max Carmona placed fifth in the 400m (48.96) with a personal best... Utah Valley's Adrian Jones ran a 8:11.64 in the 3000m.

Other field nominees: GCU's Jorden Okyere competed in the Shot Put (17.00m)... Kansas City's Shammawi Wellington jumped a 7.07m in the Long Jump ...UTRGV's Baffour Kyem marked a 15.25m in the Triple Jump.

WOMEN

NMSU's Keosha Sanders and Kansas City's Brooke Jenkins has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for February 10-16.

Sanders, the senior from Cocoa, Fla., went off to the Don Kirby Elite Invitational to compete this week. Sanders had a premil time of 7.44 in the 60m dash that placed sixth. She clocked a time of 7.36, which placed third in the finals. Sanders' finals time is a personal best, holding number one in the WAC and 41st in the NCAA Division I.

Jenkins, the freshman from St. Louis, Mo., competed in the Triple Jump and Long Jump events this week at the 5th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic this week. She measured a 5.89m in the Long Jump, placing third. Jenkins also landed a distance of 11.55m in the Triple Jump.

Other track nominees: GCU's Paige Hildebrandt finished the mile run with a time of 5:02.86... Seattle U's Maya McCabe clocked a 2:14.54 in the 800m run... Utah Valley's Hannah Branch posted a time of 16:56.86 in the 5000m... UTRGV's Sierra Spinler ran the mile with a time of 4:59.36.

Other field nominees: GCU's Madelyn Lundberg posted at 4.01m in the Pole Vault...NMSU Dascha Robinson competed in the Long Jump (5.35m) and Triple Jump (12.39m). Utah Valley's Berkley Berrett competed in the Pole Vault (3.51m)... UTRGV's Idatonye Cheetham-West holds number one in the Long Jump (5.94m).
