RIVERSIDE - Robert Moseley became the first California Baptist University swimmer or diver to earn NCAA Division I Academic All-District 8 honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.
Moseley is a junior computer science major with a flawless cumulative grade-point average, and a standout in the pool for the Lancers. He owns five top-10 times in CBU history in the 200-yard backstroke (one minute 45.33 seconds, third); 400 individual medley (3:53.98, fourth); 100 backstroke (48.74, fifth); 100 IM (51.37, fifth) and 200 IM (1:48.18, fifth).
To be nominated for the Academic All-District award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution. In addition, nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests at the position listed.
In 2019, Moseley secured two All-American awards, with three other honorable mention finishes at the College Swimming Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championship. His top performances came in the 800-freestyle relay (6:38.32, fifth) and 50 butterfly (22.33, seventh).
He also has two All-Western Athletic Conference swims to his credit over two years. He swam on the conference champion 400-free relay team (2:54.93) in 2019 and also took second in the 200 back (1:45.33).
