WDN Up For Pair of SVG College Sports Media Awards
DENVER - The WAC Digital Network is among an elite group to be named finalists by the Sports Video Group for the 2020 SVG College Sports Media Awards.
The WDN was honored in two categories, earning a nomination for Outstanding Live Game Production for the 2019 WAC Volleyball Championship as well as Outstanding Special Feature for Remembering Corey Miggins.
"It is truly an honor for the WDN to be finalists in these categories. It was a true team effort," said WAC Executive Director of Broadcasting Eric Danner. "We had a great broadcast team for the WAC volleyball tournament and the students and administrators at UVU-TV were fantastic to work with. In addition, Rachel Vigil of the WDN went out of her way to get the video and interviews that we needed for the Corey Miggins feature."
"This year's competition was held under extremely unique circumstances but what has remained consistent is the exceptional quality of the content submitted to compete in the CSMAs," says Brandon Costa, director of SVG College. "These are difficult times in collegiate athletics and we hope that an opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments from the previous year brings you a glimmer of hope for our future."
This year's ceremony will be streamed on the SVG YouTube channel on Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will be hosted by an all-star collection of CSMA hosts from the past, including ESPN's Rece Davis, Jen Lada, and Tom Rinaldi; Fox Sports' Joel Klatt; and NCAA.com and BTN's Andy Katz.
