Six Men’s Soccer Teams Collect United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY – Six WAC members received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for their performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year. This award is granted to collegiate programs that posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
A total of 889 soccer teams (333 men, 556 women) were honored. Of that total, 174 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
Among the WAC teams that received the award, Grand Canyon had the highest team GPA at 3.46 with Houston Baptist coming in just behind them at 3.43. The rest of the group was made up of California Baptist at 3.36, Utah Valley at 3.35, UT Rio Grande Valley at 3.34 and CSU Bakersfield at 3.03.
Of those schools, California Baptist, CSU Bakersfield, UT Rio Grande Valley and Utah Valley also received the award on their women's side.
