DENVER – Northern Arizona's Maddie Seidl has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 11 through Jan. 17.

Seidl, a senior from Gilbert, Ariz., led her team to a win over conference newcomer Dixie State, managing two individual wins while also helping lead the Lumberjacks to a relay victory. Seidl outswam the competition in the 200 butterfly as she reached the wall in a WAC-best 2 minutes and 3.12 seconds. Her second win came in the 100 fly as she turned in the second-fastest time in the conference (55.70). She also led NAU to a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:46.60).

Other swimmer nominated: Dixie State's Katheryn Carter picked up three wins, including her first collegiate victory as she won the 100 free (53.22) against Northern Arizona… Grand Canyon's Kaitlyn Carr posted wins and lifetime bests in both the 50 free (23.37) and 100 free (51.77), helping the Lopes take down Dixie State over the weekend.
