GRAND CANYON
The Lopes men's team has been the busiest of any WAC school, taking on BYU, Utah and Arizona twice over the past four days. Grand Canyon fell 1-6 to BYU, 0-7 to Utah, 0-7 in their first matchup with the Wildcats and 1-6 in the second meeting with U of A. Loic Van Zeggalaar was the lone Lope to collect a singles win against BYU as he took down his opponent in the No. 6 slot, winning with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-4. Jiri Novak and Wolmar Boris-Moller also looked good as they both pushed their matches to tiebreakers.
Against Utah, Van Zeggalaar once again looked solid at No. 6, pushing his second set to a tiebreaker before falling. Valentin Lang battled at No. 1, becoming the second Lope to push the second set to a tiebreaker.
In the matches against Arizona, Oliver Boleratzky shined for the Lopes as he won in straight sets (7-5, 6-2) at No. 6 during the second match. At No. 4 in the first match, Freddie Grant was competitive as he nearly pushed to a tiebreaker in the second set.
