TicketSmarter WAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Announced
DENVER – Grand Canyon's Katie Scott has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 28 through Jan. 3.
Scott, a freshman from Carl Junction, Mo., earned the award for the third consecutive week after she scored 20-plus for the third time in her last four outings. Scott posted 28 points on 11-of-18 from the field to go along with seven rebounds and three steals as she led the Lopes past Park University in their final game before entering WAC play.
Other nominees included: NM State's Aaliyah Prince finished with 22 points and tacked on five boards as the Aggies took on Kansas… Utah Valley's Josie Williams came near her second double-double of the season as she tallied 17 points and eight rebounds against Montana State.
