TicketSmarter WAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Northern Colorado's Maddy Moore and Idaho's Heather Hopkins has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for Sept. 29 through Oct. 4.
 
Moore, a senior from Sandys, Bermuda, won first place in three events on the Intermountain Shootout at Grand Junction, Colo., Friday and Saturday. She showed sprint expertise by winning the 50 fly (25.20), 50 free (23.35), and 100 free (51.01). Her 50 fly time is currently ranked sixth in the nation according to CollegeSwimming.
 
Hopkins, a freshman from Puyallup, Wash., opened her collegiate career strong by winning the 1 meter diving (275.70) and placing third in the 3 meter (235.93) on their dual meet against Washington State, Saturday. 
 
Other swimmer nominee: Dixie State's Paulina Sansores recorded the second-fastest 1000 free in program history with a fifth-place altitude adjusted time of 10:30.07. 
 
Other diver nominee: Northern Colorado's Angeline Settle performed a solid collegiate debut placing fourteenth in the 3 meter (190.75) and twelveth in the 1 meter (189.55).
