TicketSmarter WAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced
DENVER – Air Force's Wen Zhang has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer the Week, respectively, for Sept 29 through Oct 4.
Zhang, a junior from Dothan, Ala., won first place in the 200 free and earned two runner-ups in 100 free and 500 free in The Intermountain Shootout at Grand Junction, Colo., Friday and Saturday. His altitude adjusted 200 free (1:36.70) is currently the fastest in the nation according to CollegeSwimming. His times for 500 free is currently third (4:29.94) and his 100 free is eighth (4:29.94).
Other swimmer nominee: Wyoming's Matt Lang started his collegiate career strong, he was the Cowboys' opening leg for the 100 free relay that won first at DU Relays, Saturday.
