DENVER – Air Force's Wen Zhang and Wyoming's Juan Gonzales has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week for Nov. 17 through 21.

Zhang, a junior from Dothan, Ala., won the 200 freestyle against a stacked competition from Texas A&M and Southern California at the Art Adamson Invitational, Wednesday through Friday. He broke the seven-year-old WAC record of 1:33.74 with a time of 1:33.65 that puts him 12th in the nation according to SwimCloud. He also finished fourth in the 100 freestyle (43.60) and ninth in the 500 freestyle (4:22.78).

Gonzales, a sophomore from Medellin, Colombia, showed up and finished top five in the three events he competed in at Mizzou Invite, Wednesday through Friday. His top performance was the platform where he finished runner-up (344.50). He also finished fourth in the 1-meter (311.90) and fifth in the 3-meter (319.15).

Other swimmer nominee: California Baptist's Remi Fabiani picked up two individual wins in the 50 freestyle (19.46) and 100 freestyle (42.83) putting him at the top of the WAC and 22nd in the nation according to SwimCloud on both events at the Mizzou Invite, Wednesday through Friday … UNLV's Panos Bolanos won the 200 backstroke with time of 1:41.18 that puts him sixth in the nation according to SwimCloud and finished runner-up in the 100 backstroke (46.85) at the Tennessee Invitationals, Thursday through Saturday …. Wyoming's Ryan Netzel finished runner-up in the 1650 freestyle (15:30.66), third in the 500 freestyle (4:26.62) and seventh in the 200 freestyle (1:39.91).

Other diver nominee: California Baptist's Evan Honer finished sixth in the 1-meter (303.10), fourth in the 3-meter (331.00) and sixth again in the platform (289.00) at the Mizzou Invite, Wednesday through Friday.
