WAC Statement on Membership Changes
"There never is a good time to lose outstanding members such as New Mexico State University and Sam Houston State University. However, both institutions always have handled their communication with the conference office and Board of Directors in an open, professional manner regarding their rationale for moving to Conference USA.
"The WAC wishes both the very best and will work with them to ensure a smooth transition.
"At the same time, the conference also will continue to be aggressive in moving forward with its membership to build an even brighter and exciting future for the WAC."
