SFA's Gipson Named AP First Team All-America

DENVER - After leading FCS with 125.2 receiving yards per game, Stephen F. Austin wide receiver Xavier Gipson was named First Team FCS All-America by the Associated Press.

Gipson, who was also the WAC Offensive Player of the Year, was the lone first team honoree from the WAC. Sam Houston defensive lineman Jahari Kay and Tarleton defensive back Devin Hafford earned second-team honors.

Four WAC players were named to the third team. Sam Houston had three of those honorees as running back Ramon Jefferson, offensive lineman Colby Thomas and defensive back Zyon McCollum represented the Bearkats. SFA kicker Chris Campos also received honors.
