MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK DEC. 15-19
UNLV's Chris Mykkanen has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for Dec. 15 through 19.
 
Mykkanen, a junior from Newport Beach, Calif., won all three events he competed in this past weekend. He won the 500 freestyle (4:25.11), the 200 freestyle (1:37.50) and 1650 freestyle with a season best time of 15:27.69 which is also fifth fastest time in the WAC and within the top-100 in the nation this season based on SwimCloud.
 
WOMEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: DEC. 15-19
NM State's Maude Boily-Dufour and Northern Arizona's Victoria Knapp has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week for Dec. 15 through 19.
 
Boily-Dufour, a senior from Ontario, Canada, won all her events playing a major role to the Aggies' second-place overall finish at the CBU Lancers Winter Invitational, Friday through Saturday. She won and marked season best times in 50 backstroke (25.85) and the 200 backstoke where she broke the pool record with a time of 1:57.92. She won the individual 100 backstroke (55.28) but then sharpened her time as she led off the winning 400 medley relay with time of 54.46, fastest in the WAC this season.
 
Knapp, a sophomore from Mesa, Ariz., won two out of all three events competed, contributing to NAU's first -place finish at the CBU Lancer Winter Invitational, Friday through Saturday. She won the 1-meter (282.05) and the 3-meter (303.70) marking NCAA Zone qualifying scores on both.
OTHER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Other men's swimmer nominee: California Baptist's Robert Moseley won the 50 butterfly (22.06) and 200 individual medley with a time of 1:49.35 which is the sixth fastest in the WAC this season.
 
Other women's swimmer nominee: Northern Arizona's Casey Craffey played an integral role in NAU's win at the CBU Winter Invitational winning the 500 freestyle (4:54.30) and the 1650 freestyle (15:55.05).
 
Other women's diver nominee: California Baptist's Paula De Moya won the platform with a score of 250.35, marking a new program record for the event at the CBU Lancers Winter Invitational.
 
CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
CBU hosted the CBU Lancers Winter Invitational, Friday through Saturday.
 
The men's team took first out of six teams (1,592) and the women's took third out of eight (790.5).
 
The men started the meet with a win in the 800 freetyle relay (6:44.75). The squad closed the meet with a win in the 400 free relay (3:01.70).
 
CBU took the top-five spots in the men's 100 butterfly as Josh Walters took first (49.26), followed by Miguel Arroyo (49.30) and Brendan Man (49.32. The men also swept the 100 inidividual medley as Remi Fabiani (50.42), Jacob Leahy (50.96), and Jonathon Reiter (51.17) claimed the podium.
 
First-place finishes also came from Robby Moseley in the 50 butterfly (22.06) and 200 inidividual medley (1:49.35) and Jonathan Reiter in the 100 breastroke (54.69).
 
On diving, Evan Honer won all three diving events; the 3-meter (361.60), 1-meter (305.30) and platform (356.15).
 
On the women's side Patricia Van Law and Mia Maspers both earned runner-up finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:04.97) and the 50 free (23.76), respectively. Rebeca Oviedo and Faith Brazil each finished their races in third, as Oviedo placed in the 500 freestyle (4:58.17), while Brazil sprinted to two bronze medal-finishes in the 50 breastroke (29.60) and 100 breastroke (1:04.24).
 
On the diving end, Paula De Moya won the platform (250.35).
 
NM STATE
The Aggies travelled to CBU place second (1,234) overall at the CBU Lancers Winter Invitational, Friday through Saturday.
 
NM State swept all five relays events. They then won individual first-place finishes from Skylar Welle in the 50 breastroke (29.23), Maude Boily-Dufour in the 50 (25.85), 100 (55.29) and 200 bacakstroke (1:57.92), Aimee Burton in the 50 freestyle (23.310, 100 individual medley (57.13) and 100 freestyle (51.37), LIndsay Puhalski in the 400 individual medley (4:23.24), Rachel Ponte in the 100 butterfly (56.15), 
 
NORTHERN ARIZONA
The Lumberjacks travelled to CBU to win the CBU Lancers Winter Invitational, Friday through Saturday.
 
First-place finishes came from Casey Craffey in the 500 freestyle (4:54.30) and 1650 freestyle (16:55.05), Haley Mayhew in the 200 breastroke (2:17.53), Rachael Lytle in the 200 butterfly (2:04.39), Caylah Jago in the 100 butterfly (55.68), Annie Carlton in the 200 freestyle (1:51.57), Victoria Knapp won the 1-meter (282.05) and 3-meter dives (303.70)
 
UNLV
The Rebels hosted and won the UNLV Invitational, Friday through Sunday.
 
The men swept all the events with highlight performances from Christopher Mykkanen in the 500 freestyle (4:25.11), 1650 freestyle (15:27.69) and 200 freestyle (1:37.50), Panagiatos Bolanos who won the 100 backstroke (47.46) and 200 butterfly (1:45.74) and George Ratiu who won the 50 freestyle (19.98), 100 individual medley (50.28) and the 100 butterfly (47.00).
