Coaches Select UNLV as Favorite to Win Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship

DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference today announced its men's Swimming and Diving Pre-Championship Coaches Poll, as voted on by the six men's head coaches in the league. Defending champion UNLV was selected to take home after finishing second one year ago.

The Rebels were picked as the favorite to win the conference championship as they received five of the six first-place votes and 25 points. The defending champion Air Force Falcons were slotted in second place, earning the remaining first-place vote and 21 points. The next two positions were separated by just two points as Grand Canyon picked up 15 points for third place while California Baptist tallied 13 points to finish fourth. Wyoming was picked to finish fifth with 11 points and Seattle U rounded out the poll with five points.

The 2021 Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimming Championships will take place at Jim Reitz Pool in Las Vegas this Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 24-27. Meanwhile, the WAC Men's and Women's Diving Championships are set to take place at the Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. on Feb. 25-27. The overall team champion will be announced immediately following the conclusion of the diving championships on Feb. 27.
