HARAMES, MELLOR AND TEMPLEMAN NAMED PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Dixie State's Kyra Harames and women's doubles team Rachel Mellor and Emma Templeman have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Tennis Athletes of the Week for Feb. 16 through Feb. 22.

Harames, a redshirt senior from Spokane, Wash., was the top performer for the Trailblazers this weekend in Salt Lake City. After dropping a 3-6 decision in her first set against Utah's Madeline Lamoreaux, Harames fought back to force a tiebreaker, in which she played to a 3-10 loss against the Ute's top singles player.

Mellor, a freshman from Mandurah, Australia, and Templeman, a sophomore from Springville, Utah, saw competition from a couple of talented pairings from Utah (5-1) and Boise State (3-2). Against Utah, the duo battled to a 3-6 loss against the one-loss tandem of Emily Dush and Madeline Lamoreaux.

DIXIE STATE
The Dixie State women were back in action for the first time since Jan. 30 as they battled with Utah and Boise State over the week. The Trailblazers fell in both matches 0-7. Kyra Harames had a solid showing as she pushed Utah's Madeline Lamoreaux to a tiebreaker but ultimately dropped the match. Rachel Mellor also had a good outing in singles play as she pushed Boise State's Mae Mccutcheon to a third set before falling.

SEATTLE U
The Redhawks were the only other team that competed last week as they took on Portland State on Friday. Though Seattle U dropped the match 1-6, senior Hannah Gianan had a solid outing. Gianan was the lone Redhawk to pick up a win as she defeated PSU's Lotti Meszaros (6-0, 6-4). Aranza Alvarez Sanabria was also impressive in the no. 6 spot as she pushed her opponent to a third set before she fell.
