DENVER – Utah Valley redshirt senior forward Amber Tripp has been selected as one of 30 women's candidates for the Senior CLASS Award®. The total list of candidates is comprised of 60 NCAA men's and women's soccer student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Tripp, a three-time Academic All-WAC selection, was selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region third team in 2019. As a family science major, Tripp currently has a 3.71 cumulative GPA.

Tripp has been a team captain for Utah Valley for the past two seasons and is a leader both on the field and in the classroom. Tripp has also been involved in several service and community projects during her time at UVU. Her service projects include spending time in Costa Rica volunteering at an orphanage, volunteering for the Orem Hospital festival and helping with the Boys & Girls Club in Orem, Utah.

Starting 55 games in her career, Tripp has proved to be an anchor on the Wolverines' high-powered offense. Tripp was named the 2017 WAC Freshman of the Year while also earning All-WAC First Team and WAC All-Tournament Team honors in 2019. This season, Tripp has a pair of goals and three assists as she is a part of a Utah Valley team that ranks third in the conference in goals scored at 21 on the year.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

The group of 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists in April. Those 10 finalists will be placed on an official ballot that is distributed through a nationwide voting system. One female candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C's of community, classroom, character and competition will be selected.

The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2021 NCAA Women's College Cup® championships in May.
