TicketSmarter WAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced
DENVER – UT Rio Grande Valley's Ricardo Mendoza and Utah Valley's Aaron Johnson have been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for March 1 through March 7.
Mendoza, a graduate student from La Joya, Texas, took fourth in the 800m run at the Longhorn Invitational, completing the two-lap race in 1:43.41. His time is also fourth in the nation this young season.
Johnson, a junior from Las Vegas, took advantage of a trip to his home town, winning the long jump at the UNLV Spring Opener with a mark of 7.53m. The second-best jump in UVU program history, it is also the third-best in the country this year.

Other field nominees: UTRGV's Harry Bathelemy took third in the long jump (7.48m) and fifth in the triple jump (14.43m) at the Longhom Invitational.
