LEXINGTON, Ky. - New Mexico State middle blocker Lia Mosher was named to the AVCA Midwest All-Region Team, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday morning.
The Ruidoso, N.M., native was voted to the 14-player Midwest All-Region Team by coaches who are AVCA members. Mosher is the 11th All-Region honoree in program history and joins former teammate Megan Hart who won the award last season.
Mosher led an Aggie squad that finished the season ranked eighth nationally for hitting percentage (.295) with a .420 hitting percentage, good for second in the Western Athletic Conference. Her .420 hitting percentage for the season is the second-highest single-season total in Aggie history, finishing just behind former AVCA All-American Gwen Murphy (.421), and tied for fifth in a single season in the WAC record books. Mosher led the Aggies with 1.21 blocks per set which ranked fifth in the WAC while hitting 2.31 kills per set.
For her dominance at the net this season, Mosher picked up the first All-WAC award of her career after being named to the All-WAC First Team. The 6'2 middle was also named to the WAC All-Tournament team.
