TicketSmarter WAC Men's Golfer of the Week Announced
DENVER – Grand Canyon's Michael Salazar has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for April 14 through April 20.
Salazar, a senior from El Paso, Texas, led the Lopes in their final regular season event, shooting a 2-under-par 214 to finish in 11th place among 66 golfers. As a team, the Lopes were eighth, shooting a 16-over-par 880. In terms of stroke average, Salazar ranks seventh in the WAC this season, averaging 73.5 strokes per round.
Other men's nominees: Chicago State's Keegan Easley shot a 68 and won his match 4-0 as the Cougars finished the regular season with a 4-1 match play win over Governors State.
