WAC Men’s Tennis Postseason Honors Announced

DENVER – The 2020-21 All-WAC men's tennis teams have been named, following a vote of the WAC's five head coaches. Grand Canyon's Valentin Lang headlines the awards, earning WAC Player of the Year honors, while teammate Jonathan Da Silva was named WAC Freshman of the Year. Grand Canyon swept the major awards as Gregory Prudhomme of Grand Canyon won WAC Coach of the Year.

Lang was named WAC Player of the Year after going 3-0 in WAC play as Grand Canyon's No. 1 singles player. He finished the regular season with a 7-9 record. Lang also earned first team All-WAC honors at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles. Lang heads to the WAC Tournament riding a six-match winning streak.

Da Silva earned WAC Freshman of the Year honors after going 3-0 in the No. 4 slot in WAC matches. He ended the regular season of his debut year with a 6-7 record. Da Silva also earned first team All-WAC honors in singles (No. 4).

Prudhomme earned WAC Coach of the Year after leading Grand Canyon to a perfect 3-0 record in WAC play. He helped the Lopes finish the season on a five-match winning streak. Prudhomme also earned WAC Coach of the Year honors on the women's side.
