UVU's Lysen Finishes 18th at NCAA Regional

CLE ELUM, Wash. — Utah Valley's Gabe Lysen shot a final-round even par 71 on Wednesday at Tumble Creek Golf Club to finish 18th in the 73-player field with a three-round score of 1-over-par 214 (72-71-71) at the NCAA Regional in Cle Elum, Washington.
Lysen's even par 71 on Wednesday matched his round two score for his tournament low round. He carded three birdies and 12 pars in his final round. During his three rounds, Lysen recorded 11 birdies—the sixth most among the field. The 18th place finish marks Lysen's fourth top-25 finish of the season and his third top-20 finish of the year.
Lysen moved up five spots on the leaderboard on the final day to finish 18th with a three-day tally of 1-over-par 214 (72-71-71). East Tennessee State's Shiso Go won medalist honors at the regional with a three-round score of 8-under-par 205. East Tennessee State won the team title at the event with a score of 14-under-par 838.
Lysen's impressive finish at the NCAA Regional wraps up a stellar career for the graduate student. He played in 42 tournaments and recorded 121 rounds of golf for the Wolverines with a career scoring average of 74.58 during his five seasons. His 74.58 scoring average is the ninth-best average in school history.
