TicketSmarter WAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – California Baptist's Florian Le Pallec and Grand Canyon's Ethan Harris have been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for April 26 through May 2.

Le Pallec, a junior from Kervignac, France, ran the quickest 10,000m in the WAC this season, taking seventh at the talented West Coast Relays with a time of 29:21.06. In addition to being the best in the WAC this season, it marks the second-best time in CBU history.

Harris, a senior from Victorville, Calif., earns honors for the second straight week after winning the high jump at the Desert Heat Classic with a U.S. Olympic Trial-qualifying mark of 2.26m (7-5). In addition to being the top in the WAC by nine inches, he is tied for third in NCAA Division I this season and ninth in the world rankings.

Other track nominees: Grand Canyon's Damion Marshall ran the first leg of the Lopes' 4x400m relay that posted the top time in the WAC this season, clocking 3:10.88, in a fourth place finish at the Desert Heat Classic … Utah Valley's Tyson Green took fourth in the 10,000m run at the Oregon State High Performance Meet, finishing in a time of 29:21.28.

Other field nominees:  Tarleton's Alan Palmer won the long jump at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster with a leap of 7.67m (25-2), the top in the WAC this season.
