OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University's Breanna DeWaal has been named to the CoSIDA 2020-21 Academic All-District® 8 Women's Soccer Team. District 8 consists of players from seven states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Oregon, Utah, Washington) and Canada.
The school health education major boasts an impressive 3.91 GPA. She is just the second player in UVU history to earn Academic All-District honors. DeWaal is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team, which will be announced in late June.
DeWaal helped the Wolverines to a first-ever WAC regular season title and a WAC Tournament championship this past season. UVU earned its third trip to the NCAA Tournament where the squad picked up its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory with a 1-0 shutout over No. 25 Memphis.
DeWaal has played in 69 matches and made 57 starts during her four seasons at UVU. She has 16 goals and 15 assists for 47 points.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
