Six WAC Volleyball Teams Earn USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Six WAC volleyball programs – California Baptist, Dixie State, Grand Canyon, NM State, UT Rio Grande Valley and Utah Valley – earned the United States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 season.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

Additionally, Utah Valley was designated a Team Academic Honor Roll school which is awarded to the top 20% of team GPAs from each division.

A total of 1,275 teams earned the accolade. There were 252 programs from the NCAA Division I level.
