WAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Grand Canyon's Aidan Diggs and Israel Oloyede have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 19 through 23.

Diggs, a redshirt-junior from Goodyear, Ariz., placed two top-three finishes at the MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational, Saturday. He finished third in the 60 meter hurdles (7.93) and 400 meters (49.08). His 60-meter hurdles time puts him first in this season's WAC performance list and 42nd in the NCAA according to TFFRS.

Oloyede, a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., picked up a stellar first-place finish in the MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational, Saturday. He won the weight throw event breaking a 38-year-old WAC record with a 24.45m (80' 2.75") mark. This performance also puts him first in the NCAA performance list and fourth all-time in NCAA history according to TFRRS.

 Abilene Christian's Jack Marshall clocked two third fastest times in the WAC's performance list in the 60-meter dash (6.82) and 200 meters (21.55) at the Red Raider Open, Friday … Tarleton's Justin Raines finished third in the 60-meter dash (6.96) and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.61) at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge, Saturday … UT Rio Grande Valley's Jermarrion Stewart clocked two 11th fastest WAC's performance list times in the 60-meter dash (6.94) and 200-meter dash (22.27) at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge.
 
Other field nominees: Abilene Christian's Tyler Richardson placed ninth in shot put marking 15.56m (51' 0.75") and weight throw with 17.00m mark (55' 8.25") at the Red Raider Open … Tarleton's Jaden Hall placed fourth in the triple jump with a 13.97m (45' 10") mark at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge … UT Rio Grande Valley's Christian Hall-Gardner placed third in the weight throw with a 16.78m (55' 0.75") and 14th in shot put with a 14.52m (47' 7.25") at the Fastrack Collegiate Challenge.
