WAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
 
WOMEN
Grand Canyon's Kelly Moodry and Abilene Christian's Annina Brandenburg have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 19 through 23.
 
Moodry, a junior from Gillette, Wyo., let the Lopes with a win at the MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational, Saturday. She won the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.09. Her time puts her first in the WAC and 10th in the NCAA performance lists according to TFFRS.
 
Brandenburg, a senior from Dusseldorf, Germany, placed second in the weight throw with a 15.9m (52' 2") at the Red Raider Open, Friday. Her performance puts her second in the WAC and 37th in the NCAA performance lists according to TFFRS.
 
Other track nominees: Abilene Christian's Megan Kirby finished seventh in the 60-meter hudles (8.63) with a time that puts her second in the WAC performance list at the Red Raider Open ... NM State's Aliyah Logan placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.45) with a time that puts her first in the WAC performance list at the MLK Jr. Collegiate Inviational … Tarleton's Breonna Campbell finished fifth in the 60-meter dash (7.67) and 200-meter dash (25.61) at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge … UT Rio Grande Valley's Aviana Goode finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.78) at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge.
 
Other field nominees: Grand Canyon's Taryn Burkett placed first in triple jump with a 12.42m (40' 9") mark at the MLK Jr. Collegiate Challenge … NM State's Rebecca Green placed fourth in shot put with a 14.23m (46' 8.25") mark and weight throw with a 11.77m (38' 7.5") mark at the MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational … Tarleton's Gentrye Munden placed fourth in high jump with a 1.67m (5' 5.75") at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge … UT Rio Grande Valley's Alexandrea Hurst placed third in shot put with a 14.85m (48' 8.75") and 12th in weight throw with a 14.56m (47' 9.25") mark at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge.
 
MEN
Grand Canyon's Aidan Diggs and Israel Oloyede have been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for Jan. 19 through 23.
 
Diggs, a redshirt-junior from Goodyear, Ariz., placed two top-three finishes at the MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational, Saturday. He finished third in the 60 meter hurdles (7.93) and 400 meters (49.08). His 60-meter hurdles time puts him first in this season's WAC performance list and 42nd in the NCAA according to TFFRS.
 
Oloyede, a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., picked up a stellar first-place finish in the MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational, Saturday. He won the weight throw event breaking a 38-year-old WAC record with a 24.45m (80' 2.75") mark. This performance also puts him first in the NCAA performance list and fourth all-time in NCAA history according to TFRRS.
 
Other track nominees: Abilene Christian's Jack Marshall clocked two third fastest times in the WAC's performance list in the 60-meter dash (6.82) and 200 meters (21.55) at the Red Raider Open, Friday … Tarleton's Justin Raines finished third in the 60-meter dash (6.96) and fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.61) at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge, Saturday … UT Rio Grande Valley's Jermarrion Stewart clocked two 11th fastest WAC's performance list times in the 60-meter dash (6.94) and 200-meter dash (22.27) at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge.
 
Other field nominees: Abilene Christian's Tyler Richardson placed ninth in shot put marking 15.56m (51' 0.75") and weight throw with 17.00m mark (55' 8.25") at the Red Raider Open … Tarleton's Jaden Hall placed fourth in the triple jump with a 13.97m (45' 10") mark at the Fastrak Collegiate Challenge … UT Rio Grande Valley's Christian Hall-Gardner placed third in the weight throw with a 16.78m (55' 0.75") and 14th in shot put with a 14.52m (47' 7.25") at the Fastrack Collegiate Challenge.

Abilene Christian, Stephen F. Austin and Tarleton will meet each other at Texas Tech Open and Multis hosted by Texas Tech, Friday.
 
HOUSTON G5 & SUPER 22 INVITATIONAL
UT Rio Grande Valley and Lamar will be travelling to Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational at the University of Houston, Friday through Saturday.
 
UW INVITATIONAL
Seattle U will travel to the University of Washington and compete at the UW Invitational, Friday.
 
AURORA GRAND PRIX
Chicago State Cougars will be at Aurora, Ill., competing at the Aurora Grand Prix hosted by Aurora University, Saturday.
 
PITTSBURGH INVIATIONAL
Abilene Christian got a packed schedule this weekend. The Cougars will be travelling to Pittsburgh, Kan., for their second meet at Pittsburgh State Invitational hosted by Pittsburgh State, Saturday.
 
NEW MEXICO TEAM OPEN
Grand Canyon and NM State will travel to the site of The WAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, Albuquerque, N.M., and compete as teams at the New Mexico Team Open, Saturday.
 
STACY DRAGILA INVITATIONAL
The Utah Valley Wolverines will travel to will travel to Pocetallo, Idaho, to compete at the Stacy Dragila Invitational hosted by Idaho State, Saturday.
