MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: JAN. 19-23
California Baptist's Remi Fabiani and Evan Honer has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week for Jan. 19 through 23.
 
Fabiani, a freshman from WiererbachSandweiler, Luxembourg, went three for three on his individual events on the Lancers' win over Grand Canyon, Saturday. He won the 50 freestyle (20.30), 100 freestyle (45.09) and the 200 freestyle (1:41.15). Fabiani closed the meet leading off the Lancers' winning 400 freestyle (3:02.62) relay adding a team win on his record.
 
Honer, a junior from Surprise, Ariz., swept the men's diving events on the Lancers' win over Grand Canyon, Saturday. He won the 1-meter with a score of 345.08 and the 3-meter with 350.25. Honer scored NCAA Zone Qualifying scores in both events.
 
WOMEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: JAN. 19-23
NM State's Lindsay Puhalski and Northern Arizona's Victoria Knapp has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for Jan. 19 through 23.
 
Puhalski, a sophomore from Ontario, Canada, collected three individual wins in the NM State's draw against Northern Arizona, Saturday. She picked up wins in the 100 backstoke (58.06), 200 individual medley (2:07.48) and the 200 backstroke (2:05.66).
 
Knapp, a sophomore from Mesa, Ariz., contributed two first-place finishes in the Lumberjacks' draw against NM State, Saturday. She went two for two, winning the 1-meter with a score of 289.54 and the 3-meter with a score of 299.40. Knapp placed NCAA Qualifying zone scores in both events.
 
OTHER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Other men's swimmer nominee: Grand Canyon's Griffin McKean led the Lopes with a win in the 200 butterfly clocking a season best time of 1:52.94 and two top-three finishes in the 200 breastroke (2:06.90) and 200 individual medley (1:56.18), Saturday.
 
Other men's diver nominees: Grand Canyon's Isaac Poole picked up two runner-up finishes in the 1-meter (300.45) and 3-meter (350.25) on GCU's loss at California Baptist, Saturday.
 
Other women's swimmer nominee: California Baptist's Giulia Decataldo won the 1000 freestyle (10:31.48) and the 500 freestyle (5:10.25) in the Lancers' fall to Grand Canyon, Saturday … Grand Canyon's Maria Chatzi won the 100 freestyle (52.36) and the 200 freestyle (1:55.30) while also finishing second in the 200 individual medley (2:09.14) in the Lopes' win over California Baptist, Saturday … Northern Arizona's Casey Craffey contributed two individual wins in the 1000 freestyle (10:45.58) and the 500 freestyle (5:16.43) in the Lumberjack's draw against NM State.
 
Other women's diver nominee: California Baptist's Kiree Lowe won the 1-meter (289.54) and finished second in the 3-meter (299.40), Saturday … Grand Canyon's Abigail Erickson finished third in the 1-meter (230.63) and 3-meter (299.40) as the Lopes' win over California Baptist … NM State's Italia Aranzabal finished third in the 1-meter (264.83) and 3-meter (267.08) in the Aggies' tie against Northern Arizona.
 
CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Lancers hosted Grand Canyon for the their last home meet of the season, Saturday.
 
The men picked a win (183.5-115.5) while the women fell against the Lopes (132.5-163.5).
 
The men's swimmers were led by Fabiani who picked up three wins in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. With him was Robert Moseley who picked up two wins in the 100 (50.87) and 200 backstroke (1:52.08). Eric Tolman also added to wins for the Lancers in the 100 (56.92) and 200 breastroke (2:05.54). John Sullivan and Brendan Man added a win each in the 500 freestyle (4:46.18) and the 100 butterfly, respectively. The men also swept the 200 medley (1:31.48) and 400 freestyle (3:02.65) relays.
 
On the women's side, Decataldo led the Lancers with two individual wins in the 500 and 1000 freestyle. Other individual wins came from Faith Brazil in the 100 breastroke (1:04.4) and Patricia Van Law in the 200 individual medley (2:08.52). 
 
In diving, Honer went two for two in the 1-meter and 3-meter while Lowe picked up a win in the 1-meter.
 
GRAND CANYON
The Lopes travelled to California Baptist for their last travel meet of the season, Saturday.
 
The women added a win to their streak (163.5-132.5) while the men fell against the Lancers (115.5-183.5).
 
Chatzi led the Loopes with two individual wins in the 100 (52.36) and 200 freestyle (1:55.30). Other individual wins came from Robyn Edwards in the 200 backstroke (2:03.86), Raphaela Nakashima in the 100 breastroke (1:04.47), Emily Muteti in the 100 butterfly (57.45), Briana Rittenbach in the 100 backstroke (58.23) and Claire Banic in the 50 freestyle (24.35).
 
The men was even across the board with individual wins from McKean in the 200 butterfly (1:52.94), Alonso Carazo Barbero in the 200 individual medley (1:53.18), Adiran Curbelo in the 200 butterfly (1:54.20), and AJ Sheppard in the 1000 freestyle (9:49.75).
 
NM STATE
NM State travelled to Northern Arizona for their last road swimming and diving meet of the season, Satruday.
 
The Aggies evened out the Lumberjacks to a 132-132 tie.
 
Swimmer of the week, Puhalski, led the Aggies winning three individual events. Aimee Burton collected three individual wins of her own in the 100 breastroke (1:05.48), 50 freestyle (23.62) and 100 freestyle (52.35). They also won the 800 freestyle relay (7:51.19).
 
NORTHERN ARIZONA
The Lumberjacks hosted NM State for their last dual meet of the season, Saturday.
 
The women collected individual wins in the meet that ended in a 132-132 tie. Swimmer of the week nominee, Craffey, won two individual events. Other wins came from Caylah Jago in the 100 butterfly (56.93), Maddy Rey in the 200 butterfly (2:06.89) and Hayley Mayhew in the 200 breastroke.
 
Women's diver of the week, Knapp, added two wins when she dominated the diving events.
