DENVER –Seattle U's U’l Kaaihue and Utah Tech’s Kayla Thompson have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 10.
Kaaihue, a freshman midfielder, was credited with the game winning goal as Seattle U shutout Utah Valley 3-0 last week. Kaaihue scored in the 22-minute mark of the match which is her third goal of the season. Kaaihue logged a total of 78-minutes taking three shots with two being on goal.
Thompson, a senior goalkeeper, had a lights out weekend in the net helping Utah Tech to its victories over NM State and Sam Houston last week. Thompson ended the weekend with ten saves and two wins including an eight save performance against NM State. Thompson has helped the Trailblazers to a nine-game winning streak dating back to Aug. 29.
