AIR FORCE’S DEWING RISES TO SECOND IN THE NATION IN GOALS

Thanks to a four-goal weekend for Air Force in a pair of victories, reigning WAC Offensive Player of the Week Thaddaeus Dewing re-took the conference lead with 10 goals, 0.91 goals per match and 1.82 points per match. Dewing checked in second in goals in the latest NCAA DI national statistics report on Oct. 10, just one goal behind NCAA leader Emil Jaaskelainen (11) from LIU.

As of the Oct. 9 NCAA RPI rankings, Seattle U boasted the top-ranked strength of schedule thus far this season in DI men’s soccer. Seven of the nine matches for the Redhawks at the conclusion of the second weekend of conference matches have been played against top-100 RPI opposition. Air Force led all WAC members with the number 36 RPI in the country.

UTAH TECH FLIPS THE SCRIPT IN LEAGUE PLAY

Following a 2-6-0 start to nonconference action, Utah Tech has righted its 2022 ship with a 1-1-2 mark thus far in WAC matches to share third place with Grand Canyon with five points. The Trailblazers downed Grand Canyon 2-1 on Sept. 30 and notched back-to-back 1-1 draws at UTRGV on Oct. 7 and at Houston Christian on Oct. 9. Utah Tech has already scored more goals (4) in its four conference matches than its eight nonconference contests (3) combined.
