ARLINGTON, Texas–Grand Canyon's Gianna Gourley and Seattle U’s Michele Adam have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 17.
Gourley, a junior forward, scored the game-winning goal at Stephen F. Austin on Sunday. Overall Gourley has eight goals to lead the WAC and ranks 32nd in the NCAA so far this season in the category. Lastweek, Gourley took 11 shots with two on goal.
Adam, a senior defender, was a part of a Seattle U defense that blanked UTRGV and outlasted Stephen F. Austin last week. Adam also contributed on the offensive side of the field with an assist and a goal against UTRGV. Adam and the Redhawks are currently 5-1-1 in conference play sitting fourth in conference standings.
