UTRGV RETURNS TO WAC ACTION
UTRGV returns to conference play after a 10-day layoff. The Vaqueros currently have the longest winning streak in the conference with six straight victories. UTRGV’s Sarah Cruz leads the conference in kills with 344 averaging 4.30 per set.
UTAH VALLEY BEATS STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
Utah Valley continued its conference winning streak after beating Stephen F. Austin in four sets, which gave the Wolverines three WAC wins in a row. Jules Fink leads the league in blocks (53) averaging 1.10 blocks per set.
UTA SWEPT SEATTLE U
UT Arlington earned its second sweep of the season with a 3-0 victory over Seattle U. Mollie Blank recorded her second double-double of the season with 20 assists and 14 digs. Sophomore Kortney Puckett averaged 2.00 kills per set along with 1.43 digs per set and 1.57 blocks per set while establishing new career highs in digs (7), kills (11) and aces (2) in the Mavericks win.
UTAH TECH DOWNS SAM HOUSTON IN FOUR
Utah Tech was led by the senior Whitnee Nihipali who was named the TicketSmarter Offensive Player of the Week with her 15 kills and 18 digs. As a team the Trailblazers had 50 kills with 23 errors from 176 total attacks for a .153 hitting percentage.
TARLETON TAKES DOWN CBU IN FOUR
Tarleton captured its third conference win of the season with a 3-1 victory over California Baptist. Megan Haynes paced the Texans with 14 kills on .294 hitting, followed by Grayson Schirpik who posted 12 kills and seven digs. Ailie Hair added 11 kills on a team-high .625 hitting to pair with four blocks. Six of Hair’s 11 kills came in the first set.
