ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Luis Mueller and David Cordes have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Mueller, a junior forward, led the way for CBU with five points (two goals and one assist) during a 2-0-0 road trip. Mueller served the winning assist on the match-clinching goal in the 33rd minute of a 1-0 shutout of San José State on Oct. 21. Mueller added a brace in a 3-1 win at Seattle U on Oct. 23, converting a penalty in the 37th minute before adding an insurance goal for the Lancers in the 69th minute.

Cordes, a sophomore defender, scored the match-winning goal from Mueller and helped limit San José State to just eight total shots and two shots on goal in the CBU clean sheet on Oct. 21. The Lancer defense helped hold a talented Seattle U offense to just four shots on goal in the 3-1 triumph on Oct. 23.
