ARLINGTON, Texas Utah Valley's Heather Stainbrook and California Baptist’s Noa Shumacher have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 24.

Stainbrook, a junior midfielder, scored four goals in UVU’s two road wins at Abilene Christian and Tarleton last week to move into a tie for the top spot in the WAC standings and secure a spot at the upcoming WAC Tournament. Stainbrook recorded a pair of braces, scoring two goals in the 4-1 win at ACU and two more goals in the 6-1 win at Tarleton. She led UVU with four goals, eight points and 14 shots over the two matches.

Shumacher, a graduate goalkeeper, had another strong defensive presence in the Lancers shutout victory over Utah Tech and a tie against Southern Utah. Shumacher has now been named the TicketSmarter WAC Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. Schumacher has a total of 80 saves on the season with an average of 6.15 per game along with a save percentage of .842.
