TicketSmarter WAC Volleyball Players Of The Week Announced
DENVER –Grand Canyon’s Melanie Brecka, Sam Houston's Madison Dyer and Stephen F. Austin’s Camryn Hill have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Offensive, Defensive and Freshman Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Oct. 2.
Brecka, a graduate outside hitter, tallied 15 kills against California Baptist with 5.00 per set with a hitting percentage of .429. Brecka completed the game with 16 points averaging 5.33 points per set. Brecka is averaging 2.97 kills per set along with 3.48 points per set for the season.
Dyer, a freshman middle blocker, averaged 3.22 kills per set along with 4.06 points per set over the weekend. Dyer recorded 14 kills and two blocks in the Bearkats win over Seattle U. Dyer set a new season high in blocks (10) to go along with 15 kills in a five-set win against Utah Valley.
Hill, an outside hitter, recorded 24 kills over the weekend including a career high 15 kills against Abilene Christian. Hill recorded three total blocks and three aces in the Lumberjacks matches this past week. She also recorded 21 digs during that time including a career high of 14 against ACU. Hill recorded her second double-double of the season in the match against ACU.
