2022 WAC Volleyball Release - Nov.1

THREE TEAMS HAVE CLINCHED A SPOT IN WAC TOURNAMENT
Utah Valley, UTRGV and Stephen F. Austin have clinched a spot in the 2022 edition of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. These teams have secured nine conference wins with two weeks of competition remaining.

UTRGV SWEEPS UTA
Luanna Emiliano finished the match with 36 assists to increase her career total to 2.032, which moves her to fourth in program history. Sarah Cruz led the Vaqueros with 14 kills on .310 hitting, six digs and three aces. Perris Key recorded 10 kills on .412 hitting while sophomore Claudia Lupescu posted nine kills on .412 hitting.

GRAND CANYON SWEEPS SAM HOUSTON
GCU holds Sam Houston to 39 points in match while hitting a WAC-best .447. With that win, it marked the team's first consecutive sweeps as they swept NM State in its previous contest. This marked the fourth contest between the two teams, were GCU holds the edge at 3-1 dating back to September 15, 2018.

SOUTHERN UTAH SITTING AT AN EVEN 5-5 IN WAC PLAY
With four games remaining in the regular season, the Thunderbirds look to make a final push to clinch a spot in the WAC tournament. The final four matches are against: Grand Canyon, California Baptist, Stephen F. Austin and UT Arlington.
