TicketSmarter WAC Men’s Basketball Players Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle U’s Cameron Tyson and UTRGV’s Adante’ Holiman have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Tyson, a redshirt junior guard, enjoyed two elite performances for 3-0 Seattle U during the opening week of the 2022-23 season. Tyson averaged a phenomenal 33.5 points per game on 56.4 percent (22-of-39) shooting from the floor, which included a 55.6 percent (15-of-27) clip from beyond the arc. Tyson also chipped in 5.5 rebounds per contest over his first two starts. Tyson logged 35 points and eight rebounds for the Redhawks in an 85-71 win at UC San Diego on Nov. 7 and followed up that performance with 32 points and three boards in an 83-71 triumph at home against Portland State on Nov. 13.
Holiman, a guard, made an impact as a reserve in his first collegiate action for 1-1 UTRGV, averaging 9.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest during the opening week of the regular season. Holiman tallied 13 points in his debut at Kansas State on Nov. 7 and scored six points to go along with five assists and four rebounds in a dominant win against Southwestern Adventist on Nov. 12.
