TicketSmarter WAC Football Players Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Ethan Long and Utah Tech’s Quali Conley and Darrius Nash have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Football Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, Nov. 12.
Long, a junior quarterback, turned in an explosive first half performance for ACU in a 45-28 win at Sam Houston on Nov. 12. Long tossed three touchdown passes in the first quarter and added a fourth touchdown toss in the second quarter as part of a 30-for-48 effort for 262 yards for the Wildcats.
Conley, a sophomore running back, posted the best rushing performance in the WAC thus far this season in a key 34-28 victory for Utah Tech against Tarleton on Nov. 12. Conley rumbled for 215 yards on 25 carries, averaging 8.6 yards per rush, and scored a touchdown from 35 yards out to put the Trailblazers in front of the Texans 31-14 late in the third quarter.
Nash, a redshirt senior defensive back, logged five total tackles and ran an interception back 95 yards at the end of the second quarter for Utah Tech in the triumph against Tarleton on Nov. 12. Nash’s pick-six put the Trailblazers ahead 17-14, a lead Utah Tech would not relinquish.
