WAC Volleyball Semifinals Wrap Up

Edinburg, Texas – The No. 2 seed Stephen F. Austin (24-4, 11-3 WAC) advance to the 2022 WAC Volleyball Tournament final after beating Grand Canyon (17-9, 10-4 WAC) in the semifinals by a score of 3-1 (25-23, 26-28, 25-20, 25-28).
SFA led GCU in points (83-63), kills (65-53), aces (8-3), blocks (10-7), assists (61-51), and hitting percentage (.192-.240). Ielan Bradley once again led the offensive attack for the Ladyjacks with 18 kills, followed by three other Ladyjacks who had double-digits. Izabella Ortiz recorded 12 kills followed by Ariana Pagan and Payton Cerny who each had 11 kills.
The Ladyjacks advance to play the winner of Utah Valley and UTRGV on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the WAC Volleyball Championship.

Utah Valley (18-10, 10-4 WAC) defeated UTRGV (26-5, 13-1 WAC) in three straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 27-25) inside UTRGV Fieldhouse. The Wolverines earns their third straight WAC Championship game appearance and eliminate the host school for the second consecutive year.
Utah Valley was led by Avery Shewell and Kazna Tanuvasa, with each having a match-high 12 kills. Abbie Miller (18) and Natalie Palmer (14) teamed up for 32 of the 38 assists in the match. Bryton Nixon had 22 digs in the match.
Utah Valley moves on to the 2022 WAC Tournament Championship Match against No. 2 Stephen F. Austin tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. CST. The match will air on ESPN+.
