TicketSmarter WAC Volleyball Players Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas–NM State’s Molly Johnson, UT Arlington’s Kortney Puckett and Grand Canyon’s Tatum Parrott have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Offensive, Defensive and Freshman Players of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, Nov. 6.
Johnson, a graduate outside hitter, averaged 6.11 kills per set while maintaining a .422 hitting percentage as she led the Aggies to a 1-1 record on the week, including a five-set win over Seattle U in which she tallied 37 kills. Johnson’s 37-kill outing marks the third-most kills for any DI player this season and most in program history. Johnson also posted five service aces across two matches.
Puckett, a sophomore middle blocker, recorded six blocks, six digs and four kills with a .571 hitting percentage in a sweep of Stephen F. Austin last week. Puckett also led all players in blocks and hitting percentage in the match.
Parrott, an outside hitter, had 25 kills in six sets with a .328 average hitting percentage in both matches against Southern Utah and Utah Tech. Parrott averaged 4.67 points per set, 4.17 kills per set and 1.83 digs per set last week.
