DENVER – Utah Valley's Fardaws Aimaq has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week and California Baptist's Taran Armstrong have been named TicketSmarter WAC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week for February 7 through February 13.

Aimaq, a redshirt-sophomore center from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, recorded his nation-leading 20th and 21st double-doubles of the season as the Wolverines split a pair of crucial WAC games at home. After putting up 15 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Grand Canyon on Thursday, he stepped up on Saturday, scoring 23 points with 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 72-68 over league-leading NM State.

Armstrong, a guard from Burnie, Tasmania, Australia, averaged 10.5 points and 9.5 assists per game as the Lancers earned a pair of home wins over Lamar and UT Rio Grande Valley. His biggest game came on Saturday against UTRGV, scoring a team-high 18 points to go with nine assists and a pair of steals in an 80-72 homecoming victory.

Other nominees included: Abilene Christian's Reggie Miller scored 13 points and had five rebounds, three steals and three assists in ACU's 77-63 win at Tarleton … California Baptist's Tre Armstrong led the Lancers to a pair of home wins, averaging 20.5 points per game and adding 6.5 rebounds per game in wins over Lamar and UTRGV … Chicago State's Brandon Betson averaged 12.5 points per game for the Cougars as they dropped home contests to Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston … Dixie State's Dancell Leter scored 15.0 points per game as the Trailblazers fell to NM State before knocking off Grand Canyon … Grand Canyon's Sean Miller-Moore matched his career high with 19 points, adding seven rebounds and a block, in a 79-69 win at Utah Valley … Lamar's Lincoln Smith recorded a pair of double-digit scoring games, averaging 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in losses at California Baptist and Seattle U … NM State's Teddy Allen averaged 22.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as the Aggies split a pair of games in Utah … Sam Houston's Savion Flagg posted his fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds in a 72-59 win at Chicago State … Stephen F. Austin's Gavin Kensmil scored 19 points in 31 minutes as the 'Jacks picked up a road win at Chicago State … UT Rio Grande Valley's Justin Johnson scored a career-high 38 points in the Vaqueros' 80-72 loss at California Baptist.

Other freshman nominees included: Chicago State's Kedrick Green scored 10 points and added a pair of steals in the Cougars' 72-59 loss to Sam Houston on Saturday … Lamar's Brock McClure recorded his second career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a loss at Seattle U on Saturday … Seattle U's Kobe Williamson led the Redhawks with 10.0 points per game, adding 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game as SU earned home wins over UT Rio Grande Valley and Lamar … UT Rio Grande Valley's RayQuan Taylor picked up his third double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday's 80-72 loss at California Baptist.
